One of the five castles in Naples, the Royal Palace is one of the most imposing landmarks of the city: palace, museum, and historical tourist destination, it incorporates in its structure one of the most importand Opera theathers in the world, Teatro San Carlo. I strongly suggest to visit the royal apartments, with the grand staircase at the entrance and their magnificent decorations of military trophies and allegorical bas-reliefs. Beautifully decorated historical rooms overflowing with art works, statues, tapestries and period furniture. You will immediately mesmerized!

Along with Castel Sant'Elmo that stands beside it, this is the most visible landmark of the city, for it commands the gulf with its position. It is just a short funiculare ride away from Via Toledo.
Churches
This is one of the 500 churces of the historical centre of the city, its story is very interesting and the majolica cloister in the monastery complex is truly a thing of beauty.
