when you do visit elafonisi you can also go to kedrodasos beach which is 5-10 minutes distance from there and it’s definitely worth it.

In order to access the beach on foot from Kambos village, you have to follow the path starting from there and crossing the amazing lush gorge for two hours. The gorge is full with plane trees and there is a river flowing almost all year round.

Kampos is a small village in Chania, built at an altitude of 340 meters and is 27 km from Kissamos. The inhabitants are engaged in agriculture, animal husbandry, beekeeping, fishing and silverwork. In this region, it is believed that there was the ancient city Inachorion, but is not confirmed its location.
In Kampos, you will see the old mills, the mill area, the Byzantine church of Agia Paraskevi with old frescoes and the church of All Saints, which is built into the homonymous cave.
Near to the village, is situated the small wooded gorge of Kampos, which is the westernmost gorge of Crete. A beautiful path crosses it, covered with gigantic trees that offer shade to hikers. During the journey, you will see that enough water flows in the river of the gorge throughout the year.
