Quieter, ocean front dining is perfect for a date night or brunch. Great seafood, more upscale atmosphere, lovely staff. I go here when I want a treat, because no matter where you are seated you have a great view of the ocean. Inside has huge windows on the ocean side, and downstairs there is semi-outdoor seating in a large tented area, as well as seating on the boardwalk to the pier. The best part is the bar out on the pier, where they often get live bands to play over the beach and just becomes a great spot for a drink with friends, or a date.

This beautiful, quiet, nature reserve is a great place for low key hiking, picnics, or biking. Also located here is a museum of the Fort, where you can learn about the history of the area and it's part in the Civil War. Right across the street is a beautiful, secluded stretch of beach with some great surfing, and a playground and clubhouse area with snacks and info about the town.

Getting Around
Cars cost $5 to take this lovely 45min boat trip across the Cape Fear River to Southport, where there is shopping, dining, and lots of art to discover. Or, park your car and ride as a pedestrian for only $1/person. Great way to see the river and get a unique view of Fort Fisher.
