This place is very fun for kids! As you enter they give you a card with one of the famous, gun-slinger, inmates on it and you find out about your prisoner as you go through the museum. My child loved learning about his inmate. They also let you go into the horrible old cells and hear the stories of the most famous former inmates.
Just outside of the town of Laramie- to the west of Cheyenne, past Vedauwoo and Curt Gowdy parks.

Wyoming Territorial Prison State Historic Site

As you enter they give you a card with one of the famous, gun-slinger, inmates on it and you find out about your prisoner as you go through the museum. My child loved learning about his inmate. They also let you go into the horrible old cells and hear the stories of the most famous former inmates.

Nice city park. In the summer, on Friday nights, there are sometimes open-air concerts and food trucks. A nice way to spend the evening.

This is a VERY Authentic old-style, breakfast cafe where you will find local blue collar workers fueling up for a days work. Kind waitress, decent food but most of all, if you want to see life as it was, this is it.

Vedauwoo Recreation Area
Short 40 min drive west of Cheyenne. Amazing rock formations with beautiful path running through them. Take a picnic and watch the sun set, you are likely to see a moose at dusk on the path which is very cool, but they are dangerous so keep your distance.

Curt Gawdy State Park
Nice little lake with a hillside full of trails: great for mountain biking or a picnic.
