Twenty Trees’, as it’s locally known (there’s only actually 19!), is an elevated spot where you can pause and take in the beautiful views above and around Hayfield. Walkers frequently follow in the footsteps of the Kinder Mass Trespassers up out of Hayfield.

Walks near Marple

Marple is a walkers' delight, providing a mixture of superb scenery and fascinating historical features. With miles of canal tow paths, cycle tracks, heavily wooded valleys, rivers, lakes and hill top moorland the district offers a huge variety of interest. https://www.marple.website/walks-around-marple.html

Rosehill & Marple Train Stations

The house is situated only a 15 minutes walk to either Rosehill or Marple Railway Stations - both provide an easy 25minute commute to central Manchester. Timetable: https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/ Note: The Agatha Christie character Miss Marple was often incorrectly thought to be named after the Marple Railway station, at which Christie was once delayed, but her grandson Matthew Pritchard cleared that up in July 2015 by bringing a letter to the station's 150th anniversary, which was coincidental, the 125th anniversary of the author's birth. The actual source of the name was Marple Hall.

Wind your way along the Macclesfield Canal through old stone bridges and past green forested areas, open fields and immense mill buildings such as Goyt Mill at Marple and Clarence Mill at Bollington and the Hovis Mill at Macclesfield. The canal is well kept with plenty of character a real pleasure. There are even a few locks and a couple of aqueducts thrown in! https://heritagenarrowboats.co.uk/narrowboat-holiday-routes/marple-return/
