The Villa Doria Pamphili is a seventeenth-century villa with what is today the largest landscaped public park in Rome, Italy. It is located in the quarter of Monteverde, on the Gianicolo (or the Roman Janiculum), just outside the Porta San Pancrazio in the ancient walls of Rome where the ancient road of the Via Aurelia commences. It began as a villa for the Pamphili family and when the line died out in the eighteenth century, it passed to Prince Giovanni Andrea IV Doria from which time it has been known as the Villa Doria Pamphili.

The base of the Janiculum Hill, or Gianicolo in Italian, abuts Trastevere's western edge. It was a site of rituals in the early days of Rome, then home to most of the city's flour mills. It also figured heavily in the 19th-century campaign for Italian unification. Today, the not-too-strenuous climb up the Janiculum offers some of the best views over the city, plus a chance to peek inside the gates of fancy villas, academies, and embassies.

The "Friends" is reborn as a point of reference in the capital of Roman nightlife. The restaurant changes its look and name to become one of the local "mood" of the moment: "Mechanism". Positioned in the famous Piazza Trilussa, it contributes with its style to enrich the value of the historic location . The cocktail bar , in its original version, inside was presented with a minimal style in the wake of the newly designed lounge bars for the time, with "cold" materials such as iron, glass, aluminum and plexiglassto be the master. Drinks & Nightlife

Great place to find craft beers from all over Europe. A VERY good beer bar/bottle shop located just off of Campo de' Fiori. There is a good selection of Italian crafts including Brewfist, Extraomnes, Lambrate, and others. Imports were a strong selection of primarily Belgians. Half the stock is in two large coolers and you may purchase to take away, drink in the shop or in the very non busy street out front (in plastic). Prices are not unreasonable. Owner is very friendly, knowledgeable and ready to talk beer. The regulars that were there around 11:00pm were entertaining. You don't need to be able to speak Italian as long as you can speak beer.

St. Peter's Square (Italian: Piazza San Pietro [ˈpjattsa sam ˈpjɛːtro], Latin: Forum Sancti Petri) is a large plaza located directly in front of St. Peter's Basilica in the Vatican City, the papal enclave inside Rome, directly west of the neighborhood Rione of Borgo. At the centre of the square is an ancient Egyptian obelisk, erected at the current site in 1586. The Pantheon is a former Roman temple, now a church, in Rome, Italy, on the site of an earlier temple commissioned by Marcus Agrippa during the reign of Augustus (27 BC – 14 AD). It is one of the best-preserved of all Ancient Roman buildings, in large part because it has been in continuous use throughout its history, and since the 7th century, the Pantheon has been used as a church dedicated to "St. Mary and the Martyrs" (Latin: Sancta Maria ad Martyres) but informally known as "Santa Maria Rotonda". The square in front of the Pantheon is called Piazza della Rotonda.

Campo dei Fiori is probably the oldest market of Rome. Since 1869, every morning, except on Sunday, the square is heaving with colourful stalls selling fruit, vegetables, meat, poultry and fresh fish. Other stalls display legumes, rice, dried fruit, walnuts and species, while close to the fountain there are florist stands. Among the specialities of the house, the unmissable Roman artichokes, and other vegetables like broccoli and spinach. In some stalls you will find already cut vegetables and ready to prepare a fine minestrone soup or very fresh mixed salad. The maket of Campo dei Fiori is a true feast for eyes Open every morning except Sunday till 2pm. Restaurants all around the plaza.

Go here and you start to understand just how magnificent the Roman Empire must have been. The scale is breathtaking and the remaining tall structures leave you marveling at how they were built in the first place. These days there is a security check to get in, as at many of the famous monuments in Rome, but it’s worth it. Make the effort to walk up the Palatine Hill too, all the way across to the viewpoint over the Circus Maximus. Tip: buy a combi ticket for the Forum and the Colosseum.

No trip to Rome is complete without a visit to the beautiful Fontana di Trevi. Have a look at Nicola Salvi's late Baroque waterworks influenced by an earlier try by Bernini, then follow the Roman tradition of throwing a coin into the fountain to guarantee a return to the Eternal City. The fountain dates back to ancient Roman times in 19 B.C. when the Roman aqueduct was constructed. The aqueduct brought water to the Roman baths and the fountains of central Rome. The fountain was built at the end of the aqueduct, at the junction of three roads. Certainly the most famous and photographed fountain in Rome, legend has it that whoever throws a coin into the pond will return to Rome.

This is the most popular square. You can enjoy every corner of this place. The fountain, the restaurants, shops, bars and the Trinità dei Monti church at the top make this place wonderful. The name of the square was given from Palazzo di Spagna, where is the Embassy of Spain. In the middle of the square is a fountain : Fontana della Barcaccia, the artwork of Bernini father and Bernini son. A lot of people come here to admire the fountain, or to sit on the Spanish Steps. I highly recommended!

One of the oldest churches in Rome and one of its most beautiful, the Basilica of Santa Maria in Trastevere contains brilliant gold mosaics from the 1100s, and a nave held up by ancient columns pillaged from the Baths of Caracalla. Dedicated to a 3rd-century martyr, the nearby Church of Santa Cecilia in Trastevere is known for its elaborate crypt and a magnificent Baroque-era sculpture of the saint.
