I am not a beer drinker, but my girlfriend highly recommends this craft brewery that is right around the corner (less than 0.5 mile, about a 10 minute walk). It is a low key place - no music or televisions. The only downside is there is no food.

Bitter & Twisted has been a great date-night spot that I have visited on several occasions. They recently redid their menu, so I was little disappointed at my last visit when some of my favorites were gone. However, I would still recommend it if you are looking for a good cocktail as their list has something for everyone.

They recently redid their menu, so I was little disappointed at my last visit when some of my favorites were gone. However, I would still recommend it if you are looking for a good cocktail as their list has something for everyone.

This place usually to actually be underground and was such a fun atmosphere. It may be above ground now, but the drinks are still phenomenal. They may not be cheap, but they do not skimp on the quantity. Reservations recommended.

Good Eats
Welcome Diner resides in the Garfield historic district (about 2 miles, 10 minute drive from property). An interesting take on American dishes, I have been there numerous times. I highly recommend the Big Jim.

I won't say that I have single-handedly kept this restaurant going, but I'm sure my patronage has been appreciated over the years! I probably don't want to know how may Roasted Turkey Sandwiches I have eaten, but I still think it is one of the best sandwiches in the valley. This is a great lunch spot and has some good treats as well (thinking of you chocolate peanut butter brownie). Unfortunately, they are no longer open on weekends, reducing their hours since the pandemic began.

I probably don't want to know how may Roasted Turkey Sandwiches I have eaten, but I still think it is one of the best sandwiches in the valley. This is a great lunch spot and has some good treats as well (thinking of you chocolate peanut butter brownie). Unfortunately, they are no longer open on weekends, reducing their hours since the pandemic began.
I am not a seafood fan (I think growing up in Kansas may have ruined that possibility), but my girlfriend highly recommends Pa'la for delicious, Mediterranean food . It is less than half a mile away on 24th Street, so you don't have to go far for some great food.

You will find tacos galore in the Phoenix area, but Gallo Blanco is one of the better spots close by. Go for the guacamole at $6.
