A really neat place with all the deep and mysterious history of the area, especially about the Lost Dutchman Mine. The museum has outdoor exhibits year round. Live music sometimes and western shows and crafts. Very interesting stuff about all the gold mining in the area and the historic movie studio where many westerns of old were filmed.

Hiking

Moderate hike up and down a moderate trail to a waterfall at the trail head. Beautiful scenery. 12 minutes for the Ranchito. There are hundreds of trails in the area. You MUST be prepared to take even a short hike. This is the desert. Something is always trying to sting, prick, bite, cut, poke, poison or kill you and the desert wants to dehydrate you, very quickly. You MUST bring water and wear appropriate clothing for even the meekest of hikes because things can turn bad quickly on the trail. Visit a great site for info on all the trails in the Apache Junction area at AllTrails.com
