The picturesque village of Youlgreave sits between the River Bradford and River Lathkill. On the River Bradford is a designated swimming spot that has been carved out of the limestone rock along the river.
There’s also a great walk from Alport along the river up to The Lathkil Hotel and pub with stunning views.

The picturesque village of Youlgreave sits between the River Bradford and River Lathkill. On the River Bradford is a designated swimming spot that has been carved out of the limestone rock along the river.
There’s also a great walk from Alport along the river up to The Lathkil Hotel and pub with stunning views.

Park at Grindleford station and follow Padley Gorge up onto the moors. Soak in the scenery at Surprise View and loop back round on the winding paths back to the station coffee shop.

Many walks to be found in the Chatsworth estate but my favourite 2 are parking at Carlton Lees, following the path behind the garden centre, up the hill towards the Swiss Chalet and coming out by the woods overlooking Edensor and heading to the tea room!
Alternatively park at Edensor and walk across to Chatsworth house, through Stand Wood up to the hunting tower to marvel at the views from the cannons and swing by the lakes that feed the fountains in the gardens before heading back to Edensor Tea Room!
Calton Lees Car Park (Chatsworth)
