If you are a nature lover, this place is a must. About 35 minutes from the home, off 75N near Sarasota. Great place for hiking, boating (if you dare), camping, wildlife viewing and boat tours on the lake for gator sightings. Plenty of places to park and walk, see gators under the bridges on sunny days. Bring water and comfortable shoes. The boat tour is fun, you will see gators! Water birds, turtles and wild boars are common friends to see as well. Makes for a great half day.

You'll love the entrance drive with sand dunes and cabbage palms! Use the florida snow shovel in the garage for collecting sharks teeth. By the way, the shell shop in Venice has bags of them for $2 if you want to bring some home for the grandkids.
