Nature

It is close to our properties, a twenty minute drive towards the slopes of Mt. Meru. It is one of the closest getaway spots from Arusha City. The hike gives you a good workout and the walk down to the river through the natural forest and then along the river until the final destination - the waterfall.

A great place to relax and have a good time with some friends. There is a local bar around which serve drinks and local cuisine. A boat ride around the lake is also possible here. We do not recommend swimming in this lake as it is known to have bilharzia as well as strong currents. Hikes around this area are also possible, it would be arranged with a guide there. The drive from our property is about 30-minuites. It is very popular on Saturdays & Sundays.

Sightseeing

Clock tower was known to be the mid-point of the famous Cape to Cairo route. It is a great walk if you want to experience Arusha City. It is about a 15-min walk from our property and we highly recommend you only walk during the day. Around Clock Tower you will find many Café's, curio shops and museums. On the walk you will pass by fruit stands, street vendors, Arusha's gem market and a nature park

A market which sells locally made art, souvenirs and jewelry. It is such vibrant and exciting place. So much to see and appreciate! With this said, I must warn you of the haggling here. You will get asked by almost everyone to come to their shop to see. It can be intimidating. Also, remember to bargain here. If you enjoy bargaining and are good at it, this is your place. If you want a more relaxing and enriching experience regarding African Art. Check out Culture Heritage.

A great place to view and buy African Art from different eras of humanity in different styles. Products ranging from sculptures, fine art, photography, curios, gift items and more. There is no entry fee and everyone is allowed to come view the amazing art from Africa. It is about a 20min-30min drive from Clock Tower and you can easily get there with public transport. With that said, you might get overwhelmed with how much they have there. If you really love viewing art, you need at least 90 mins.

Great views and a well built hotel. The Rooftop is a great place to go for some sundowners. They make great mocktails/cocktails.

A great place to try out local meals in Arusha. They have a large seating area, bar and even sports. They have every Swahili dish you can think of, from wali nyama (rice & beef curry), to mbuzi choma (goat BBQ), to ndizi nyama (banana broth with meat). Also the perfect place to go on a budget. You can get a full meal for just TSH 5,000/- (~$2). One thing to keep in mind is that it can get really busy during lunch hours and weekends. If you enjoy the crowd, that's the place to be. If you don't like it so much, try go off-peak hours.

A nice little cafe with WiFi which can fill up quickly. Food and drinks are at an affordable price. A coffee and pastry will cost about $4.

Neighborhoods

Tall trees, flowering with different colours throughout the seasons. The streets are busy but it is easy to find a boda boda to take you around. There are several restaurants around with varying cuisines - Indian, Mediterranean and Swahili. The inner streets away from the main road are nice walks around, however, watch out for cars as there are no dedicated pedestrian pathways.

This is where the heart of trading and business lives in Arusha City. It is a long straight road with lots of shops and a busy life. Just a note: you will catch attention as a foreigner. People will try sell you things. If you're accustomed to that you will be fine, however, if you find that overwhelming - let us know and we can organize a guide for you.

交通アクセス

Avoid walking at night

Avoid walking at night and if you must walk somewhere close by, ask a local to go with you and don't carry any valuables or bags which can be snatched easily. You also have to watch out for holes on the road as some are poorly lit.
