Things To Do

SINCE 1941 Where the best in the west meet and compete! The Red Bluff Bull Sale humbly began in 1941 when a small group of local ranchers and a local farm advisor decided to start a Hereford show and sale in Red Bluff. What developed out of that Hereford show 80 years later is considered the greatest stock show and sale west of the Rockies. What began as a way to promote the cattle industry has evolved into a western extravaganza, revered by consignors, buyers and attendees as the premier Bull and Gelding Sale; and a top destination for anyone in the ranching industry. Held the last week in January, The Red Bluff Bull Sale is an exciting and time-honored tradition to jumpstart the new year. It has become more than a top sale of the best stock the industry has to offer, but a must attend social gathering for all in the ranching community to reconnect with old friends. The present-day agenda also holds one of the largest trade shows in the Western United States, with vendors from around the nation bringing everything from tractors, chutes, and trailers, to handcrafted leather work, western clothing, jewelry and home decor.

Founded in the fall of 1921 as an adjunct to the Tehama County Fair, the Red Bluff Round-Up was the first Northern California rodeo to join the Cowboys' Turtle Association - precursor to the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) and has overcome interruptions due to hoof and mouth disease, the Great Depression and World War II to become one of the sport's signature events.
