Maxwell House is a lovely example of a family estate and grand house and the old kitchen (now the cafe) is worth a visit to see how the house would have operated (and sample good scones!). There's a shop and exhibition.

Two mins from the flat, one stop - 5 mins into Central. Regular trains at least 4 an hour. Goes to Glasgow Central Station. Easy, fast and cheap return.
