This is a nice hike with a visitors center. On the north end in Santee is a dam with running water. Many rock climbers can be seen hiking the mountains between the visitors center and the dam.

This is a really nice path walkway. There and back is about 7 miles. You’re always next to water which is nice. Also, boat rentals available too
