Awesome desert and mountain view around the city. The Catalina Mountains are our summer "get our of the heat."
A research facility and training Hill! The area was inhabited by indigenous peoples ( hence the research) and has a terrific steep, paved winding path up the hill. Get your workout on here - take water!!!

I love Gates pass for several reasons: A top of the saddle view of the southern desert, and bottom of the hill hikes that can take you further into the desert or all the way to the JW Marriott. Pure desert hiking on established trails. Whether at top or bottom, the sunsets are spectacular.... you can take photos where the setting sun is IN YOUR HANDS.

Pure desert hiking on established trails. Whether at top or bottom, the sunsets are spectacular.... you can take photos where the setting sun is IN YOUR HANDS.
Oh Boy, Hotel Congress is many things: first, yes a hotel. Modernized with hot water and toilets, but a blast from the past (think Bonny & Clyde). The main restaurant extends out to an entertainment plaza and features live music at least every weekend. Club Congress is a jumpin' jivin' place of live music on Monday/Tuesday evenings. Its right across the street from the Train Station too! Did I mention Hotel Congress has several bars and additional live music venues...well, I did now!

The main restaurant extends out to an entertainment plaza and features live music at least every weekend. Club Congress is a jumpin' jivin' place of live music on Monday/Tuesday evenings. Its right across the street from the Train Station too! Did I mention Hotel Congress has several bars and additional live music venues...well, I did now!

In St Phillips Plaza there are 2 REN Coffeehouses! One by the bike shop, super busy, terrific food! The other has several more specialty coffees and mouth-watering baked goods.

La Chaiteria has vege, vegan, and meatful dishes that make you wonder how they possibly made them! If the vegan choco chip cookies are there, get one quick...the best! They also have food to take home, a bit of Sangrie, several lattes, and a thirst-quenching Turmeric Lemonade.
La Chaiteria is part of a bigger business: Tumerico Restaurants. There are 2 Tumericos, one on 6th St and the other on 4th St downtown.

Here’s the story:
Tucson was laid out a few centuries by a guy on a mule . . . and the mule was drunk! Use your GPS/Nav features. There are public buses, 1/4 mile from the house, free in 2023. Electric bikes and scooters are available around town. Uber and Lyft and taxis are all available.

It gets truly HOT here, make sure you always carry water- even if you’re just going to the store. EEGEE’s is a fast food shop with a summer drink that WILL hydrate you well. Get acquainted soon with Eegees!
