Favorite hike close to home
The wildwood trail in and along Forest Park is a great and quick escape from the city. Less than 10 minutes' drive from my place. I highly recommend taking the wildwood trail from Cornell Rd to Pittock Mansion. It's about 3 miles return trip. You get a good view of the Portland city once you are at the mansion ground.

One of the grocery stores within walking distance. Nice variety of natural foods and fresh produce. Price is not cheap though.
