This place has been here as long as I can remember (which is a long time!). Situated overlooking the Contoocook, it is warm and inviting. I love the view!! It is an old building with lots of beautiful wood. Expect uneven, creaking floors with just is a testament to its age. They cover just about everything including events and live music.

The Appleseed has been one of my long time favs that I haven't gotten to in a long time truthfully. They also have an outside deck. My favorite item on their menu is the Duchess Soup. Just order it!! Mmmmmm.

Beech Hill Farm is a collection of attractive traditional red barn houses. Venture into the main barn house and you are met by a spacious ice cream parlor and a team of extremely articulate and knowledgeable staff.

Henniker is known as the only Henniker on earth (there is a little research for you!) and descendents of George Washington too. It's been called the North Conway of the South! Check out their summer concert series and their Farmers market. There are shops to check out like The Old #6 Book Depot and Quilted Thread. Visit the covered bridge and the Henniker Brewing Co. Of course there is Pat's Peak for events and skiing too!! Close by is the Deering Wildlife Sanctuary as well.

Gleason Falls is located on Beard Road about 2.5 miles from downtown Hillsborough. The falls are just off the side of the dirt section of the road. There is a small area for parking and a sign marking the falls.

Angus Lea Golf Course

If you love hawks and and falcons and would enjoy learning the history of falconry, this place is great! A unique hands on experience, where to get to have a hawk fly to be fed from your gloved hands. They offer small group sizes for classes, workshops, with several experiences are available. In addition to a great overview, they are willing to take time to answer any questions you may have at the end and allow ample time for photo opportunities. Very cool experience to enjoy on your own, with friends, family or work outing.

Once home to a dozen stone arch bridges, there are now only 5 remaining in Hillsborough. Each of these bridges are in place with the original stones and held together without the use of any mortar/cement.
A lovely drive can let you see all of them, very near to each other on Gleason Falls Road, Beard Road and Jones Rd. A wonderful place to picnic, with waterfalls and an old swimming hole is nearby.
Historic and beautifully constructed, these bridges offer excellent photographic opportunities (and perhaps a dip in the old swimming hole on a scorching summer day)
