Redwood National Park is about an hour north drive from Arcata. It has some amazing hikes to chose from. Tall Trees is a popular one.

Make sure to walk to the Arcata Plaza (15 minute walk). This is the center of town surrounded by cute local restaurants and shops. Did you know corporations are not allowed in the city of Arcata? That's why the town is so cute and has so much character!

If you are in Arcata on the weekend, don't miss out on the Farmer's Market! It is on Saturdays from 10am to 2pm on the Arcata Plaza. There is usually live music, dancing, and TONS of fresh local produce and vendors. It is definitely the place to be on Saturday...it's a party!
