These local recommendations are tried and true for my "foodie" taste buds. The food choices in greater Portland are vast. Hopefully, this Guidebook can give you a direction for finding the foods and beverages that will hit the spot for you and your party.
Coffee places are so abundant that I have just hit the tip of the iceberg with a few of my local favorites.

I just discovered this Mexican restaurant jewel today 7/15/22.
The food quality, flavors and interesting menu are tops. I would say there large guacamole was the best I have had eating out. The service at this family owned establishment is also excellent.
I will be going back for chile relleno and to try other items soon!

Love their tacos. The Mississippi neighborhood has several blocks of restaurants and cafe's: A fun area!
There is another Por Que No? on SE Hawthorne Street. Often there are lines for this food! No reservations here.

Full disclosure: This is a place I have never eaten at, but is very close to our home. A friend recently alerted me that it is an excellent brew pub, with a broad and interesting menu.
I must say, after reading over the food array offered here, I will anxiously look for an opportunity to try out this neighborhood pub-gem, hiding in plain sight!
Weeks later: Now that I have tried out this gastro-pub. I can give an experienced thumbs up for their eclectic menu and drinks. It is almost always busy, the atmosphere is energized and the service was excellent in my two visits.
