A bit a drive (about an hour and half away). It makes a wonderful day trip. Explore inside of the fort to learn about the history during the French and Indian War as well a the Revolutionary War: the War for Independence. Stroll through the Kings Gardens or the battle fields. There is food at fort but I enjoy checking out what down town has to offer instead.
