Well worth a visit, but remember the tunnels get cold so take a jumper.
Drakelow Tunnels are a former Top Secret underground military complex beneath Kingsford Country Park, just up the road from the annexe. Open days only happen a few times a year so booking on via email/FB is essential.

We're close enough to drive in to Birmingham city centre or take the train from one of the local stations. Visit the Bullring shopping centre or the mailbox. Lots of shopping, food and drink venues and of course the theatre and comedy clubs.

Wild life
A lovely local wildlife attraction that houses reptile, small mammals and birds. Well priced and only seven miles from the annexe. The park is just up the road from the Halfpenny Green Wine Estate, so really easy to combine the two.

Great place to take a picnic, although there is a little cafe also. The play area has recently been refurbished with great wooden equipment. You can walk/cycle all the way to Highley following the paths. Aveley itself has some great country pubs too.
