Another awesome sunset location. It's also the launching beach for the Tahoe dinner cruises. Well worth your time! Parking is usually free by sunset.

Located about 25 minutes from our home. Rent the kayaks in the morning as the breeze gets more difficult in the afternoon. Hiking is part of the Pacific Crest Trail. Good swimming in the summer.

This is a great hike and leads to a beautiful swimming lake during the summer that includes small cabins and a great snack store. If you go high enough on the trail (past the store), you can see an Angora Lake, Fallen Leaf Lake and Lake Tahoe all from your vista point.

Angora Ridge RoadThis is a great hike and leads to a beautiful swimming lake during the summer that includes small cabins and a great snack store. If you go high enough on the trail (past the store), you can see an Angora Lake, Fallen Leaf Lake and Lake Tahoe all from your vista point.
Favorite beaches summer and winter
Located in North Lake, it is an amazing place for photography year round. During the summer, it has great swimming; however, get there by 9:00 am so you will get parking!

Located on the West Shore, this beach has 360 degree views. Avoid it on the weekend during the summer unless you want arrive very early or quite late. One of our favorite swimming spots.

About an hour from our home, this fun resort in the Carson Valley offers a great restaurant and numerous hot spring pools cooled to different temperatures. It is open year-round and offers day passes. Check their website, though, for availability during Covid. Beautiful views of the Carson Valley while enjoying the relaxing hot springs!

About an hour from our home, this fun resort in the Carson Valley offers a great restaurant and numerous hot spring pools cooled to different temperatures. It is open year-round and offers day passes. Check their website, though, for availability during Covid. Beautiful views of the Carson Valley while enjoying the relaxing hot springs!
Favorite Waterfalls
This is one of our favorite places in Tahoe but it cannot be accessed during snow season. Glen Alpine Falls is one of the best falls that, most of the year, you can actually climb on. Easy to get to. The Lake also has a great snack bar with the best milkshakes and a perfect deck for sitting and reviewing the lake. It's a tricky road to drive in but well worth it.

The Upper Truckee Falls are beautiful in the Spring but get smaller mid-June. From our home, go past the inspection station on Highway 50 and turn left onto South Upper Truckee Road. Drive until you reach the right turn for the Hawley Grade Recreational Trail. Choose to park here and walk the .3-mile to the falls (you may also drive); the main hike is to the right – go left for the falls and the Upper Truckee River.
