Portland, Oregon has more breweries per capita than any other city in the world, and yet it does not have a signature beer hall to celebrate the tremendous tradition of Oregon Craft Brewing. The craft brewing movement may have officially started in a neighboring state but it is universally acknowledged that Oregon redefined the craft brewing movement and established itself as the capital of American brewing since the late 1980s. The Loyal Legion’s sole purpose is to celebrate the Oregon Craft Brewing tradition.

Portland’s Lightning Bar Collective sure knows how to make locals swoon. The cooperative is behind Dig a Pony, Sweet Hereafter, Bye & Bye, and now NoPo’s charming Victoria, which feels like an older sibling to those joints: out with the mason jars, in with the delicate hobnail lamps. The roomy space brims with lovely details—distressed wooden benches, a hulking painting of the Lusitania, an Astroturfed patio. Even sweeter: bartender Lisa Hare mixes a roster of cocktails riffing on, yes, The Princess Bride. Try the tequila-based, cardamom-accented Inigo Montoya or the citrusy, IPA-spiked Six-Fingered Man. New Orleans–inspired fare, much of it vegan, emerges on china your grandma would love..

Voodoo Doughnut in Portland Oregon, Eugene Oregon, Denver Colorado and now Austin Texas, was the brain child of Kenneth "Cat Daddy" Pogson and Tres Shannon who had been friends for a while. They always wanted to start a business together. Something that would fit into an extraordinary Portland Oregon business climate. Something fun, different, and one for the ages. After much searching under rocks, tequilas, and women's blouses, they found what they were looking for... doughnuts!! Cat Daddy with his stunningly brilliant business sense, and Tres with his seemingly endless supply of connections, set forth to conquer Old Town, Portland Oregon, and the world with the Doughnut!! One of the most different, creative and fun meals I've had. A 2015 James Beard nod WELL deserved. MUST TRYS: - Herring under a Fur Coat: other than how beautifully presented it is, no description will do the interesting taste combinations justice. If you like beets you'll definitely like this. - Lemon-cured Salmon Caviar: They cure it in house, so the price is really good, and it tastes great with the mini pancakes, butter, bread etc served with it. - Farmer's Cheese Dumplings (Tvorog Vareniki): It has scallions and a wonderful "sour cream like" sauce on top. Multnomah Falls is a waterfall on the Oregon side of the Columbia River Gorge, located east of Troutdale, between Corbett and Dodson, along the Historic Columbia River Highway. The falls drops in two major steps, split into an upper falls of 542 feet (165 m) and a lower falls of 69 feet (21 m), with a gradual 9 foot (3 m) drop in elevation between the two, so the total height of the waterfall is conventionally given as 620 feet (189 m). Multnomah Falls is the tallest waterfall in the state of Oregon. It is credited by a sign at the site of the falls, and by the United States Forest Service, as the second tallest year-round waterfall in the United States.[1]However, there is some skepticism s

Portland's Japanese Garden is located on the grounds of an old zoo. Though covering an area less than six acres, the gardens are so beautifully laid out in a variety of styles that they offer a uniquely peaceful environment for visitors. Garden spaces include the picture-like Flat Garden, the Strolling Pond Garden, and the zen-focused Sand and Stone Garden, among others. There's also a lovely ceremonial teahouse.

Just west of downtown Portland, this grand home was built in 1914 by Henry Pittock - founder of the Oregonian newspaper. Pittock lived here for only five years until his death in 1919 at the age of 80. The house, set for demolition in the 1960s, brought the community together as they persuaded the City of Portland to purchase the home. Through private fundraising the mansion was restored to its full glory, and it is because of the forward thinking of local residents that visitors have a chance to tour this impressive and eclectic home today. Especially for its day, the Pittock Mansion had many impressive features including a central vacuum system, intercoms, and indirect lighting. The home

The Rose Test Garden in Portland's Washington Park was founded in 1917 and is the oldest continuously operated public rose test garden in the United States. Developing new rose varieties and even miniatures, the grounds are divided up into several sections with many interesting plants and spaces to explore. Award winners are planted in what is known as the Gold Medal Garden, which also features a lovely gazebo. It's best to visit during the late spring bloom. Another lovely Portland rose garden - Peninsula Park Rose Garden - is set in a sunken landscape on the other side of the river.
