There are numerous beaches all around the Anglesey Coast. Most of the coastline is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, so you can find hidden coves as well as the popular beaches.
Porthdafarch Beach Our Local! This is a stunning Blue Flag beach located just 5 minute walk from our centre. Ideal for families, kayakers, surfers and walkers. From here you join the Anglesey Coastal Path. Going North it takes you to South Stack Light house (about 1 .5 hours walk) or going south head to Trearddur Bay Village (about 45 mins) We run our coasteering adventurous activities from here. Its a great location for a sunset photograph Dog restrictions in place in high season There is a slip down to the beach area so good for disabled and pram access Public Loos (Seasonal Opening)

A beautiful and unspoilt sand and pebble beach edged with rockpools. The Wavecrest cafe and Lobster Pot restaurant are located next to the beach with The Church Bay Inn just a short walk into the village.

Newbrough is one of the largest and finest dune systems in Britain and are home to a dazzling array of plants and animals. Newbrough is one of the largest and finest dune systems in Britain and are home to a dazzling array of plants and animals. Lined by a pine forest and with views across to Snowdonia it is a stunningly beautiful beach. There are toilets in the main car park area and in season there is an icec ream van. Venture away from the bridge into the town set on the banks of the Menai Strait and you will find it is lined with independent shops, bars and restaurants. Take a walk along the Belgian Promenade to St Tysilios church, jump on one of the boat trips that leaves from the town or explore some of the local attractions, such as the Menai Heritage Centre.

Adventure

If you like being outdoors Anglesey is a natural outdoor playground and is still only 40 minutes drive from Snowdonia. There is some epic rock climbing at Holyhead Mountains and the sea cliffs. For watersports Anglesey is a sea kayaking mecca, the conditions at Rhosneigr make it a world class windsurfing venue plus there are numerous dive wrecks around the coast. If you want to just enjoy the coastline then try coasteering , wild swimming or sit on top sea kayaks.
Anglesey Outdoors also boasts a whole team of activity instructors who provide high quality adventures. Choose from Coasteering, Kayaking, Rock Climbing, gorge walking, Canyoning and Sea Level Traversing.

There are numerous great places to eat within a short distance from Anglesey Outdoors . As of 2021 many restaurants are not open, partially open or are offering reduced menus as they try to recover from the implications of Covid lockdown. It is often necessary to prebook and we suggest keeping an eye on social media to keep up to date with any opening hours/restrictions.
The onsite Bar and Bistro, The Paddlers Return is well known for its high quality home made food with locally sourced ingredients. The bar is relaxed and homely with a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. They often traditional Pub Food plus every night there is a different meat, chicken, fish and vegetarian special. Real Ale is mostly local from Bragdy Cybi or Purple Moose. The Paddlers is not always open so please check social media or reception for current hours.

South Stack also boasts a wonderful reserve made up of heathland and farmland set on the dramatic sea cliffs. In spring guillemots, razorbills and puffins breed on the iconic cliffs. The RSPB Ellins Tower observatory and visitor centre and cafe are well worth a visit. Parking charges apply.

An ideal location for observing waders and diving birds such as oyster catchers and little egrets. It is also a sanctuary for red squirrels with one of the largest communities on the island. Dog friendly, but please keep dogs on a lead near to the squirrel feeding stations. There is a nature walk through the woodland, hidden beaches and plenty of places to sit and admire the views.

Now, there are a network of walks with a viewing area to take in the stunning panorama and colourful palette of reds, oranges, purples, and greens. Whilst the dramatic, stony landscape appears barren it supports a variety of wildlife including birds such as skylark, meadow pitpit and chough.
