The Ginger Fox is only a minutes drive from The Elms and my favourite local restaurant. They have reopened since lockdown.
They have a large garden for elfresco dining with plenty of social distancing.
The food is lovely and its a great spot to eat.
I would suggest making a booking as it is very popular.

This lovely little country pub and restaurant is a few minutes drive from The Elms and is extremely popular( i believe it is necessary to book for food at the moment)
This pub has lovely garden to eat in and is situated directly below Devils Dyke. It is a great walk up to the Dyke after dinner to lose some of those calories, it is steep. tel;01273-857382

The StreetThis lovely little country pub and restaurant is a few minutes drive from The Elms and is extremely popular( i believe it is necessary to book for food at the moment)
This pub has lovely garden to eat in and is situated directly below Devils Dyke. It is a great walk up to the Dyke after dinner to lose some of those calories, it is steep. tel;01273-857382

If you want another outstanding view of West Sussex, Ditchling Beacon is the spot, its stunning.
If you drive up to the beacon from the village of Ditchling its a lovely drive a little hair raising at times but well worth it.

We are approx 30 minutes drive from this historic and beautiful medieval town and castle.
I have been around this castle a few times its well worth a visit.
The area around the castle has great gardens and the town is full of great places to eat.

I only have one thing to say, you cant visit Brighton without having been to the Pavillion, its outrageously camp and ott but a must see.
