Cavtat Guide

Cavtat is a very small town so you can get anywhere by walking. If you ever feel tired, you have an option of coming back to the apartment with the bus or a taxi. In the apartment you will find the bus schedule and I will show you where you have to get off.

Make sure to collect everything when leaving the beach, do not leave any trash behind you and enjoy your time in Cavtat!:)

Just be positive, ready to explore and learn something new! Also, bring a good pair of shoes if you want to go hike. And sun protection!

You will find lot of activities for children in Cavtat. Playgrounds, water activities, tennis courts, etc. + the town is very, very safe so you never have to worry if something will happen!

Maybe this is how you can spend your day: 1. Go to Pasjača Beach - google it, you will LOVE it! 2. Eat at Konavoski Dvori - homemade local food, lot of tradition! 3. Have a glass of good wine at the local winery! Sounds good right? Let me know and I can help you arrange everything.

Try to avoid bus rides in the high season! *Cocktail at Banac Beach Bar. *and ofcourse, visit a church, museum and roam around the streets in the center of the town to learn more about the tradition!

All the men wanted to marry Captislava, daughter of king of Epidaurus so her father decided to give the hand of his daughter to the man who does one of following things in: build the city walls, temple, water system or bring the ship filled with silk. Vrsanin managed to build a water system and few days later at the ceremony, Captislava had a honor to drink the first sip from the fountain. However, lizard jumped out from the pipe straight to her lap and Captislava suffered heart failure. After the earthquake, the new town has been built and named after her - Cavtat.

There is one more version. Cavtat - Cvasti. Cvasti - Blossoming. Like a flower. Meaning that Cavtat bloomed like a flower after all the disaster that happened. Let me know which version you like more! I like the other one, more dramatic! Btw. there is one more legend about the dragon that lived in the cave at Rat peninsula. Interesting, right?
