Trosa is an old, beautiful, small town 15 minutes from the cottage, with shops, restaurants and cafés. Trosa received it’s ”township” status from King Karl IX of Sweden in 1610. The harbor ends at a stone pier called The Butter Bucket. When you arrive there you have reached “World’s End” (many towns I Sweden have and can go no further. Stendörren (20 minutes from us by car) is a highly appreciated and well-known nature reserve. Via hammocks you can get into the archipelago nature without a boat.
In the reserve there are several marked trails. You can swim from the rocks, watch the seasons of flora and fauna or why not try to get the dinner fish! The reservoir is equipped with a number of fireplaces with wood, toilets and dust-bins.

Stendörren nature reserve
StendörrenStendörren (20 minutes from us by car) is a highly appreciated and well-known nature reserve. Via hammocks you can get into the archipelago nature without a boat.
In the reserve there are several marked trails. You can swim from the rocks, watch the seasons of flora and fauna or why not try to get the dinner fish! The reservoir is equipped with a number of fireplaces with wood, toilets and dust-bins.
This manor is close to us (5 minutes south by road 219) and is built in the late 17 century and is today considered to be one of the best preserved historical houses open to the public in Sweden. With original inventories from more than three centuries, a tour through the house gives the visitor a good idea of the "country home" life style of the swedish aristocracy from the late 1600s up to the early 20th century. During the summer season there are also various temporary exhibitions to be visited in the buildings of the Manor. Especielly appreciated by the younger ones is "Älskas...ätas" (To be Loved or Eaten) about our complex relations towards pets and production animals. Entrance is free.

This manor is close to us (5 minutes south by road 219) and is built in the late 17 century and is today considered to be one of the best preserved historical houses open to the public in Sweden.
