The local Sunday (8.00am-noon) market is superb. Why not visit the local cafe/bar while you are there.
The Réné Descartes museum is excellent. We are amazed at what he has done and where he travelled.

Visit the chateau and amble around the small village.
We love this village. There's a lovely walks through the village and along the river. There are some steep roads and paths but road access is good.

What an amazing place this is. A private collection of anything metal, it has to be seen to be believed. Ideal for very hot or rainy days.

A must-visit chateau for those interested in English history since this is the place that Edward VIII married Wallis Simpson. Small but impressive.

An excellent chateau for children to visit.
As well as being the centre of red wine vineyards, Chinon is a pleasant town to visit with a good chateau. Market day is Thursday and there are plenty of good restaurants to visit.

On the outskirts of Tours, Vouvray white and sparkling wines are excellent. We recommend a guided tour of the wine Cooperative. (Tours in English are available)
