We've been looking for a good quality Kebab house for ages - homemade bread, baba ganoush, grilled meat. This place isn't your standard UK kebab house, it's a cut above that. Located down the end of a light industrial estate, it's not the sort of place you'd expect to find such good food. But it's worth the drive.

Another 'to do' for us. Located in the 'container on Lemon Quay' - where lots of excellent eateries have taken their first steps. They do super fresh sea food and delicious looking tapas style menu.

One of our all time favourite beaches. No life guards, cafe or toilets, but all the better due to that. Amazing at high tide when the water comes up and gets funnelled in between the headlands, which makes a beautiful swimming spot. Dog friendly.

Our closest beach. It's about a 20 min walk from the house on single track lanes. There's no lifeguard, no toilet, no cafe. It's a bit rugged and the beach has a rocky reef that can make it a bit difficult to get in the water at mid tide. But it is one of the best in the area and a real locals favourite.

Iconic engine house on the south west coast path. You could walk here in about an hour and a half. Or you can drive here in about 10 minutes.

Only 10 minutes walk from the house. Historic piece of coastline - a spitfire base in WW2 and historic home to the Nobel explosive works - the man who went on to launch the Nobel Prizes. You can walk from the house out along the coastal path, along Cligga Head and down into Perranporth.

Beautiful, compact National Trust property, just a stone's throw from Newquay. We can happily loose 2 or 3 hours here meandering around the house and gardens.

Brilliant, (mostly) tongue in cheek, outdoor theatre. They roam around the countryside all summer putting on fun, affordable performances in some amazing locations. Check out their schedule. Sadly they're taking a break for summer 2023.

National Trust property located on the banks of the River Fal and between Truro and Falmouth. The gardens are delightful and there's a beach, extensive parkland and river walks. Perfect for the hounds.

The location where it's believed that St. Piran landed after being thrown into the sea by the Irish with a mill stone around his neck. Also an amazing place to take dogs for walks - large open space with lots of rabbits, other walkers, and occasional horses. You can walk right out to the beach, along the shoreline and then back along the MOD permissive path.

Ancient quay located on the River Fal. Beautiful, shady, tree lined paths alongside a creek and in amongst an ancient Iron Age Fort. You can get in the river when the tide is up, there are BBQ pitches on the quay and a small car park at the end of the very bumpy unmade road.

We've also taken our dog for walks up through the estate, past the formal gardens and deep into the wilderness, eventually up to the Iron Age Fort. It's beautiful, quiet and bit off the beaten track.
