You wouldn't just happen upon this bakery, but you will be glad you sought it out. We go there on weekends to get our bread. You need to go down an alley to get to it. Also, there's a brewery that operates next to it in an old box container

Lizzy is a wonderful addition to the neighbourhood. She opened up her open air cafe on the Green about 10 years ago. The best bacon/egg or veggie BAP in the city (definitely the best deal). If it is a nice day, it is nice to sit outside. .
It's about 10 minute (max) walk from the house. Newington Green also has some other favourite haunts of ours such as Jolene (breakfast or dinner) and a number of other good restaurants and bars

Theatre and Music
The Arcola Theatre always puts on amazing shows. It also has a casual bar that sometimes has live jazz or other music playing later on the weekends.
This theatre is a must visit for anyone interested in theatre. Shows are usually quite thought provoking and at times challenging.

If you want a nice run or hang out with the locals, this park is lovely. It is about a 25 minute walk from the house. On a nice day, it will be packed. Nearby Stoke Newington Church Street and Abbney Park Cemetery are also good to wonder around

We are super well connected with the Overground. Use it, You can get in to the heart of the city in no time. Jump on at Dalston Kingsland - 2 stops to Highbury & Islington and take the Victoria Line to Oxford Street or Green Park... super quick and super connected.
