The predtors park or also known as the lion park by some is not a very large park, but offers visitors a good experience. Different animals can be seen. Although the lions are in an enclosure and not like some of the larger game reserves what makes this place special is that one can interact with the small cups. Although the lions are in an enclosure and not like some of the larger game reserves what makes this place special is that one can interact with the small cups. When they are a bit bigger then they tend to be to rough to handle. It is normally a worthwhile visit. The Boardwalk is more than just a hotel and casino, but visitors can expect a musical fountain at night, which is a must see, movie theaters, restaurants and cultural shops and other shopping areas. There is enough fun areas for the kids. It is walking distance from the beach area where visitors can walk on the shark rock pier and enjoy a swim. The Boarwalk also require a drive of about 30 min. It offers safe parking and walking distance to the beach area and the casino.

Amsterdamhoek is one of those places that gives you a holiday feel. Amsterdamhoek drive is situated close to the well known Bluewater bay with its long stretch of white sandy beach and a clean ocean. It is worth the 20 min drive. It is best to enter visit Bluewater bay by driving the Amsterdamhoek drive for a scenic experience.

The Campanile is a historic building situated directly next to the train station and harbor in Port Elizabeth. It was recently renovated and visitors can climb the spiraling stairway to the top and enjoy the view from there. Taking the train to port Elizabeth would be a very easy way to reach the Campanile. The Campanile is also close to the old city center with beautiful old buildings.

Bluewater Bay is enjoyable since it offers long stretches of white sandy beach with clean water.
Beautiful Clean Beach with enough shade under the bridge entry to Happy Valley. This is one of my favorite beaches since it offers white sand, clean water and shade. It is a bit of a 25 min drive from my home, but an enjoyable relaxing place. Behind the beach you find the historical Happy Valley which sometimes are transformed with beautiful lights at night. It is best these days to not enter happy valley alone due to crime, but the beach area is safe.

Avoid traveling in Minibus taxi's.
Minibus taxi's is a very common way of traveling for local South African Africans, but Europeans can find it a bit unclean, cramped and sometimes a bit unsafe. It is a cheap way of travel, but better public transport is available.

Bus and Train do offer a cheap way of transport.
Travel by train to the Uitenhage, Redhouse, Swartkops or Port Elizabeth is rather safe, but it would be wise to check the times first. It does run daily, but not hourly.

Star cabs, Uber, buses and the train.
Both star cabs and Uber are available, but both are much more expensive than public transport. Traveling by bus is cheap and runs to both Uitenhage and Port Elizabeth. The train route runs from Uitenhage-Despatch-Redhouse-Swartkops-..-Port Elizabeth and back. At the Port Elizabeth station do find the bus terminal from which many city destinations can be reached including the bus to Despatch.
