Ferries in Amsterdam
Ferries in Amsterdam are all free due to lack of bridges. download the "pontveer" app to have departure times at the ready. NDSM ferry is about 15 mins walk from my home. be careful, after 22.30h departure times start to get fewer and the app becomes unreliable for some reason..

Get to the city
Fastest way to get into the city is to hop on bus nr. 35 across the main street, then get out at Noorderpark metro station. from here take the new north-south metroline southward, and hop off wherever you wanto go. Go back the same way, hop off the bus 35 on Nageljongenstreet busstop.
