Events

Jundiaí Grape Festival traditionally takes place in the second half of January. The city of Jundiaí has 85% Italian descendants, which makes the city very festive, cheerful and rich in Italian cuisine. This party is to honor the Italian immigrants who left their homeland and took root here in Brazil, brought with them their traditions, cuisine, wine and contributed to the economic and social development of this city. It is held at Parque Comendador Antônio Carbonari, a large space with a good structure to receive thousands of people. Pets are allowed as well. Today, for example, the park was full when we arrived. We went to lunch, to try the award-winning cheese "coxinha" (the cheese coxinha only exists here in Jundiaí and became intangible heritage of this city) and a delicious esfiha. The fruit stands were very beautiful with beautiful fruits (our favorites are lychee, fig and pitaya). At the exhibition and local wine tasting stand (Vila do Vinho) there was a show with typical Italian music that was very cool and lively. Residents of Jundiaí, other cities and other states in Brazil come to participate in this popular festival of the Italian community. Admission is free (donation of 1 kilo of non-perishable food was optional). Very very cool and recommendable.
