These are some of our favorite local casual food and drinks spots in the neighborhood.
Pharmacy Burger routinely has a line out the door, so call ahead or go early or late for the best chance to get a table. Their delicious burgers taste even better when enjoyed outside in their beer garden. They have a great selection of local and German beer on draft and their housemade sweet potato fries are amazing!

Tennesseans hold their BBQ sacred and Edley's does not disappoint. A casual spot with plenty of TVs to watch the game, you order at the register and they bring your food to the table. Pro Tip: If the line at the register is long, you can also order at the bar, usually much more quickly! They have a great selection of local beers and a Nashville favorite - Bushwackers (basically an alcoholic Wendy's frosty). This is a controversial opinion, but I think they have the best Nashville's Hot Chicken in town - the jalapeno ranch is the clincher for me! Their smoked wings are also amazing - but they're known for their pulled pork and brisket. If they haven't sold out when you are there, DON'T miss out on the basket of fried okra!

Bolton's Spicy Chicken & Fish
624 Main StSo if you're looking for the spiciest and most authentic Nashville's Hot Chicken, then Bolton's is the OG, as the kids would say. This divey take away spot has been serving hot chicken and fish in Nashville for as long as I can remember. It's not a place where you want to go to sit down and enjoy your mean, but it's perfect for take out and enjoying at home! And trust me, when they say it's spicy, it's SPICY!
So if you stayed out just a little too late last night and are in need of something greasy to get over your hangover - this is 100% your spot. You'll have all the biscuits and gravy, pancakes, eggs, sausage and hashbrowns you could need. Think country diner meets Cracker Barrel and that's pretty much this place - but it's small. There's usually a line, so be prepared, but they get people in and out efficiently. It's not a bad walk from the Greenwood Guesthouse if you're up for it!

Southern Grist is East Nashville's best brewery. With great small bites and even better beer, definitely make sure this is on your list if you're a fan of good brews!

Food scene
Modern mediterranean cuisine and delicious craft cocktails should put Lyra on any foodie's "to do" list. The various selection of flavored hummuses, the fresh seafood and locally-sourced meats are all fantastic!
One of East Nashville's newest foodie spots, Once Upon A Time in France is as authentic as it gets. While the exterior may make you question it, stepping inside is like stepping into a Paris cafe. They have a great selection of French wines, their seasonal menu has all the favorites and their craft cocktails are impeccable. Be prepared to wait as they don't take reservations - but it's well worth it! It's an easy 5 minute walk from the Guesthouse.

Upscale Dining
These are the perfect spots if you're looking for a restaurant with a more upscale atmosphere and catering to a more refined palate.
Lockeland Table is one of East Nashville's original farm-to-table restaurants. Everything is locally sourced, their menu changes very frequently and I have literally never had something I didn't like here. I highly recommend reservations in advance. The food is outstanding.

Pelican and Pig is walking distance to the Greenwood Guesthouse and offers a great selection of seafood and has an out of this world steak. The menu rotates seasonally - definitely a great dinner spot!

The menu is always changing to provide palate pleasing tapas to pair with a variety of wines. The portions are small; this is more of a tasting menu than a full dinner, but you won’t find combinations like the ones they provide anywhere else!
