Muizenberg Beach is one of the most well-known beaches along the False Bay coastline. As you enter the area, you can’t miss the colourful beach hunts dotted along the sand. Muizenberg holds a high appeal due to its warm water and family-friendly atmosphere. The corner of the beach next to the Victorian railway station is known as “Surfer’s Corner" and is lined with cafés, restaurants, and ice cream shops. A number of local surf shops hire out equipment and offer lessons. A lovely 30 minute boardwalk leads along the coast to St James Beach, and offers a spectacular vantage point for watching whales and other marine life in the winter months. Avoid taking valuables on the boardwalk.
