Dugi otok beaches
It is very easy to take a swim on Dugi otok as wherever you turn you’ll have fascinating clear, blue sea attracting you with its beauty.
In Zaglav and around you can find lovely peacefull swimming spots like near us in the bay "Sitno", or in the Zaglav old village - downhill from the church - beach "Strtenica".
The hidden coves where you can find charming, untouched beaches, represent a challenge for researchers, but also to all those who want privacy and peace.
Situated in the Northern part of the island, Veli Žal is located just opposite of Mežanj island, about 5.6 kilometers from village Dragove and 10 kilometers from Brbinj. A beach that is a combination of fine white sand and small pebbles, some parts of the sea are rocky where others have sandy bottoms. Veli Žal measures over a kilometer in length and is uninhabited - a beach that does not boast any facilities other than a rustic beach bar that is convenient for ice cream, cold drinks, and some Croatian sweets. The colors of the sea are a rich blue-green, and it is not uncommon to see dolphins swimming in the distance. A beach only partially shaded by thick pine, Veli Žal does have parking located near the beach.

Sakarun is one of the most famous beaches in Zadar County, located on the northwest coast of the island.
The beach gained its reputation with the whiteness of the sand and clean sea, surrounded by pine trees that provide a welcome shade in the summer. It is about 800 meters long and at some 250 meters from the shore it is 3.5 meters deep, which means that the bathing area is extremely large and shallow and suitable even for young children.

Very nice and isolated beach, but:
hard and quite a long way to reach it (from Telašćica), you can't go by car, only on foot. Get plenty of water!

How to reach the cave?
The best way to reach the cave is to leave your car on the main road and walk on foot towards it. The path to the cave is too narrow if two cars meet and it can be dangerous!
Bring enough fluids and take a slow walk while enjoying the landscape. (about 1 hour of walking)
Archaeological researches within the Cave Strašna Peć were never carried out. However, considering the immediate vicinity of the cave Vlakno, which represents an exceptional location as well as the caves Goat and Badanj, we can suggest that this cave, thanks to its geographical position, at the very least served as a temporary habitat for early human populations on the island. A flint artefact, a small knife from the Stone Age, was accidentally found and due to the shape of the rope and the handle it is possible to date it to the Neolithic representing a rare finding at this moment.
