Lazari serves delicious breakfast and lunch. The owner, Chris Lazari, and his staff really go the great lengths to ensure that one has a delicious meal and great coffee. Marlene's cakes and pies are a firm favourite. In fact, the chicken pies are substantive enough to take home and freeze for a future meal. Another take-home delicacy are the red velvet cupcakes.

Con Brio is the local bistro in Vredehoek which everyone frequents for its delicious food, reasonable prices and home-from-home atmosphere. The Con Brio menu is varied and they have list of starter portions which immediately tempt the palate. In fact, some people skip the main course altogether and rather have two or three small plates as their meal. The crème brûlée comes highly recommended, as does the rest of the dessert menu. Booking is recommended, though I have never arrived there and been turned away.

The menu has a wide variety of healthy food options and there is even sushi if the craving for wasabi and salmon hits you while shopping. If you stay at Pulp Kitchen long enough, an added pleasure will be seeing most of your acquaintances in Cape Town come past to shop at the massive Woolworths on the first floor, Clicks or even Pick 'n Pay downstairs.
