Probably the best walk in Edinburgh. I liked Arthur's Seat but my favourite section in the Salisbury Crags walk and looking across the whole of Edinburgh. A view seen in many films. If you walk around the loch's and in-between the hills you feel like you have visited Scotlands Highlands without even leaving Edinburgh.

So many wonderful galleries and museums in Edinburgh and all free except the special exhibitions within them. But this is my favourite because you can usually find something fascinating to see and learn.

Worth a visit what ever your age - but a definite must for families. Some times get special discounts on the back of a bus ticket - so watch out for those if you catch the bus.

It is free to tour the parliament but would be good if you are able to get a tour. If you are interested in politics are around when they are sitting you can sit in the gallery and listen to a debate. You may also time it when they have a photography exhibition on which happens a various times in the year.

There are a lot of tours around Edinburgh's Old town - but this is one I have done and can say I throughly enjoyed it. They do go a bit over the top with ghost stories when they show you the underground homes - so not for anyone who doesn't like dark spaces or spooky stories. They do tour you around the old town and church yards too. But as Edinburgh's History goes - its a good way to get a feel for it.

They do go a bit over the top with ghost stories when they show you the underground homes - so not for anyone who doesn't like dark spaces or spooky stories. They do tour you around the old town and church yards too. But as Edinburgh's History goes - its a good way to get a feel for it.
These gardens are free to walk around. The only paid part are the glass houses. Lovely to wander especially on a sunny day.

Very interesting if you like to see how the royal family travelled and holidaying around the world. It’s a bus journey out of the town centre.
