Fő tér is the main square in Óbuda, the oldest part of Budapest. This charming square is surrounded by several Baroque-style buildings, including the City Hall of Óbuda and some museums and restaurants. Most buildings were commissioned in the 17th and 18th centuries, when Óbuda belonged to the Zichys, a wealthy aristocratic family. Their Baroque palace, today a museum, is on Szentlélek tér, next to Fő tér. The most noteworthy statues in the square are the sculpture of Pál Harrer, the first mayor of Óbuda and a group of bronze figures portraying women with umbrellas, by contemporary sculptor Imre Varga.
