If you want to skip all the crowds of tourists on the Brooklyn bridge, the Williamsburg bridge offers great views and is the route real New Yorkers use to bike/skate/walk to Manhattan over the bridge. Get off at the Lorimer stop and follow the signs to the Williamsburg bridge footpath.
