Food scene

Fantastic Asian fusion food (really has something for everyone from chicken fried ribeye to vegan) and ridiculous list of draft beers and specialty cocktails

Try the Professional Texas Kolsch style draft - probably 6-8 others to choose from; always has a food truck available as well. red Tulip is my favorite, but Brendan's BBQ and Say Cheese are good too.

Very well done winery you wouldn't expect in a tiny Texas town. The wines actually come from the Hill Country. The Tempranillo red is my favorite.

Nacogdoches has more than one great BBQ joint, but Uncle Doug's is my favorite for both the BBQ and for the overall experience. The BBQ is ridiculously good. Ribs, brisket, turkey, sausage and chicken with fantastic sides (e.g., broccoli coleslaw) and killer desserts (e.g., peach cobbler and ice cream). My favorite is the two meat plate with ribs and turkey!! The meal is served with a plastic knife....but you won't even need it. The meat melts in your mouth. On top of that, "Uncle Doug" (not his real name) and his wife, family and staff are so welcoming and friendly. "Doug" is always there and can be seen chatting with customers, checking on the smokehouse and hauling out the trash. The BBQ experience alone is enough to go BUT you can easily spend a couple hours there because they have a farmer's market with tons of specialty items, a coffee shop, deli, outdoor gardening and greenhouse area and much more!!! It's even great for Sunday afternoons if you want to catch football - he has 4 large screen tv's with games on. Awesome place!! Five stars!! https://www.facebook.com/DougieFreshFarmsInc/
