James Beard nominee producing punchy and creative takes on southeast asian, latin, carribean and American food. Think whole fried fish with thai spices, ceviche of the day, yucca fried with chimichuri and melt-off-the bone pork ribs with whatever was found at the market that day.

"Crispy little beers" is what owner/husband-wife duo Dan and Taylor Suarez call their divine concoctions. No IPAs here, but you'll get a diverse batch of ales of mixed fermentation, unfiltered lagers, country beers and pilsners every time you go. It's a refreshing change of pace and, in our opinion, one of the best breweries in the country. http://www.suarezfamilybrewery.com/faq

One of the finest purveyors of meat to New York City's best restaurants is also a scene to behold. Animals treated with the utmost love and care are placed in one of the prettiest bucolic backdrops that Hudson Valley has to offer. Employees/interns are passionate about what they do abd are happy to share their trade with you. Tip: The market at the entrance is always well stocked with cuts that rarely make it back to the New York butcher shops.

Named USA's most exciting new diner, this local haunt would be well worth the detour (if it weren't right around the corner). Chef and partner, Kris Schram, has cooked in kitchens all over the world, including renowned Baest and Relae in Copenhagen before deciding to settle back down in his childhood home. He found WTD and decided to give it a retro facelift and put out really (REALLY) good diner food. He smokes his own meats and grows vegetables in the back. You can't go wrong here and it's directly off our exit on the Taghanik for a perfect stop before, after (or during) your visit.

Excellent beer in a convivial setting. While their corn hole and lawn games may be competing with the games on offer at 111 Miller road, we can't compete with the brew. Slightly heavier handed than our other brewery pick in Livingston, this young brewery is already putting out great juicy IPAs, Stouts and English Lagers.

Newly renovated motel probably has the most stylish vibe in town. Both locals and out of towners come here to sip local coffee and eat organic healthy (or unhealthy) breakfast on vintage chairs and sofas. The nighttime restaurant next door is also excellent for a cozy and casual meal with a great bar and overall design. Reservations are recommended.

Southeast Asian fare that veers slightly to the left of down-the-middle. Grapefruit and pea shoot salad or delicious fall off the bone ribs are served alongside pho and vermicelli that is much better than it has to be.

You probably don't want to miss coming here at least once during your visit. The quintessential New York river town has had a reawakening (if you can even still call it that -- it's woke). What used to be 50% antique shops has given some of its retail space over to high design, world class restaurants and first rate hotels. There is no doubt you'll find something you want to buy if you walk a few blocks. The only question remains, "can you afford it"?

Don't let anybody call this Storm King's little brother. While it might be to a slightly smaller scale, the sculptures here are impressive in their own right with outdoor installations that are even more interactive than its twin to the south. You can spend a whole afternoon (or day) here wandering around and it is a great backdrop for a picnic. It's also very close by Kinderhook farm if you plan to spend the day in this direction.
