Specialty Food and Drink Shopping
Our place is close to a section of Kittery on Rte.1 known locally as "Gourmet Alley". It includes a butcher shop, greengrocer, bakery, fresh pasta shop, fish monger, and chocolate shop. Slightly off of Rte.1 you'll find another butcher shop and a fish store. We are in the heart of gastronomic heaven.
A place to purchase fresh pasta and variety of sauces, as well as pre-made meals, and fresh sandwiches. A great stop to put together a picnic. Also sells wine, olives, cheeses etc. Note: As of May 2023 the building is being renovated and the business may be on hiatus.

Best of the low key places to eat and drink. Its impossible to fully capture the dining scene in our area so these are among our favorites... for quality and convenience.
There are too many local brew houses to feature here but you may wish to check out: Earth Eagle, Great Rhythm, Tributary, Loaded Question, Liar's Bench etc...

The Puddle Dock is located on the Strawbery Banke historic museum campus. Housed in a building that was constructed to portray a typical colonial-era New England country store for the 1964 World's Fair in New York. It has been carefully renovated for its new iteration as a restaurant. The fare is "modern colonial" meaning it will reflect food long served in New England taverns using mostly local ingredients. Each dish has a modern twist. We've dined her only once but it was a delicious meal served in a lovely environment. A walk across the street in Prescott Park before or after is recommended.

You're in Maine. Unless you have a shellfish allergy (no laughing matter) you're probably going to want some lobster or fried seafood. This is a no-judgement zone.
Lobster in the rough. Picnic tables on the side of Chauncey Creek. Boiled lobsters, steamers, corn...the classic lobster boil. A few other dishes but quite basic. Locals know to bring their own side dishes, drinks, and dessert. Some people go all out and bring their own tablecloths and candles. We've been known to pop a bottle of champagne to go with our lobsters. Classic Maine.

A newcomer to the dining and drink scene in Kittery. Located in a plum spot on Badger's Island (an easy walk from Suite19) this is a modern fish shack and bar. The food and drink are fine. Its not the best place for a lobster roll but its good. What recommends the place is proximity and the view by the Piscataqua. If you've walked in to explore Portsmouth, this is a nice way station on the way home. Pro tip, the stone house next door has a "chicken run" you may want to walk by on your way out. That is, if you have an affinity for watching chickens.

We rarely ever go to the part of town with the outlet malls but if you find yourself there this is one of three places we'd recommend you might eat in that part of town.
