Limes Farm at Farthinghoe http://limesfarm.com/ is a delightful place to explore and is very popular for breakfast. Little Amsterdam in Banbury. This is an award-winning place specialising in pancake s and is especially good for their smoothies and ice creams - closes on Mondays except bank holidays) https://www.littleamsterdam.co The Fairport Cropredy Convention (formerly Cropredy Festival) This is an annual festival of folk and rock music held on the edge of the village of Cropredy. It has taken place annually in August since 1976. This year (2019) it is from 8 - 10 August. See http://www.fairportconvention.com for full details. Silverstone Formula 1 Grand Prix The British Grand Prix is a race in the calendar of the FIA Formula One World Championship. The dates this year are 12 - 14 July. https://www.silverstone.co.uk/events/ The village of Silverstone in Northamptonshire is 30 minutes (21 miles) drive from Claydon National Trust Properties There are several National Trust properties to visit within easy reach of Claydon. To the North there is: Packwood House Baddesley Clingon Charlecote Park and Upton House Canons Ashby and Stowe are just North East of Banbury Towns within reach In easy reach of Claydon are the market towns of Daventry and Brackley. A quirky place to visit in Daventry is the Sheaf Street Health Store. It is an emporium of all things tasty, healthy, ethical and nutritious. They run classes/demos and there is a vegan coffee shop at the back of the store. Also in Brackley and worth a visit is the Old Hall Bookshop at 32 Market Place. Royal Leamington Spa is known for its Regency architecture and broad boulevards. It has a selection of specialist boutiques and major high-street stores. The Right Angle Gallery is 25 minutes from Claydon. Here there is a collection of Artists and Artisans selling paintings, prints, jewellery, studio pottery, art glass and forged ironworks. The address is 24 Manor Road, Brackley NN13 6AJ. Visit the Victoria Park, Pump Room Gardens or the historic Jephson Gardens with the subtropical glasshouse. Other places worth researching include: The National Herb Centre at Warmington, very close by, is a lovely trip out:  https://herbcentre.co.uk/ The Cotswold safari park https://www.cotswoldwildlifepark.co.uk/ which is wonderful for the whole family. Chipping Norton which has the Fairytale Farm, the Chiping Norton Museum and the usual shops and places to eat. Bourton on the Water a charming village in the rural Cotswolds, adjacent to the River Windrush. It is known for its low bridges and traditional stone houses; but also hosts the Cotswold Motoring Museum, and a Model Village of the 1930s - delightful The magnificent Blenheim palace, the principal residence of the Dukes of Marlborough. We could go on but we hope this is enough to excite and interest you. There is so much to see and to explore. So do please leave your ideas in the Visitors Book at the house when you leave and have a wonderful stay.
