My favorite local restaraunts
Below is a list of some of my favorite places to eat that are all within walking distance of my AirBnb.
One of my all time favorite places to get a cheese burger! A sister restaurant to the famous Au Cheval, this place has excellent burgers without the multi hour wait. Make sure to get everything on it with a side of fries and you will not be disappointed! An added bonus to this place is that visiting it puts you right in the heart of old town, so you won't have to venture far for your next spot!

Small Cheval Wells

Chicago Pizza and Oven Grinder Company
2121 North Clark StreetA famous Chicago spot! It's not pizza, but that doesn't mean it isn't delicious! Make sure you go early because they don't take reservations, but it is worth the wait. If you are going as a party of two, I recommend getting the house salad, the garlic bread, and a pizza pot pie. Trust me, it will be plenty of food!

1962 N Halsted StIf seafood is your style, this place is a must while visiting! It's honestly hard to recommend specific food items here, because they are all great. My choice is often oysters or crab cakes for an appetizer and then the king crab or salmon for a main dish. Honestly you can't go wrong here!
Right outside your front door is an excellent location for dinner! If you can, try to grab a table on the patio (weather permitting!). I recommend either the burger or the fish n' chips! Bonus points if you grab a drink at the J Parker before enjoying a meal here!

It's tapas, so the best part is you are able to try a myriad of different options (I highly recommend the goat cheese baked in tomato sauce!). In addition to food make sure to try some of their infamous sangria, it is delicious and refreshing!

If whiskey or bourbon is what you are looking for, The Vig is for you! With over 100 options available, you are sure to find your favorite or something new to try! They also have a rotating beer selection and artisan cocktails. The Vig is sure to have a drink to satisfy any pallet!

Local Attractions

Fun no matter your age, the Zoo is a great place to spend an afternoon. Free of charge you can walk here and experience various exotic animals and plants. Very much worth a visit!

Only about 10 minutes from your front door is the famous Chicago beach! An excellent place to catch a tan or to enjoy a nice walk while taking in the breathtaking skyline! I recommend checking out the beach day or night, if only for the views of the skyline!

OK, so this one isn't exactly walking distance... But it's an absolute must if visiting Chicago! Not only is it fun to see the famous Bean, but you can also explore Millennium Park and the Magnificent Mile all in one. This is an excellent afternoon trip to see several attractions at once. Only a 10 minute walk from my AirBnb is the CTA brown/purple train line, this will take you right down to the loop and a short walk to the Bean! A great adventure for anyone visiting Chicago!
