Downtown Dar Es Salaam is missed by most tourist, but its a great place to get a sense of what the old city was like. You will find plenty of local diner like Purnima, KT shop should you need a tea break. There are plenty of fresh fruit stalls to keep you hydrated whilst you check out the architecture of the 40's and 60's.

Entertainment & Activities

Aura Mall is a new shopping mall in Dar Es Salaam. It is about 10 minutes drive from the property. There are other Cinema's nearby but I recommend this for its cleanliness and the fact that you can take a stroll through shops while you wait to go in.

This is the beach I grew up on and where all the locals visit. It gets VERY busy during the weekend, so I would go during the week. At the far end of the beach there are plenty of local street food stalls with fried cassava, bbq's and coconut water.
