Spend one and a half hours in the underground cavern of the old salt mine now developed into a tourist centre above Turda, featuring ‘the echo chamber’, Ferris Wheel, mini games & row boats at the bottom and if you’re are lucky, a mini concert in the amphitheatre. As it closes at 5pm, last entry 4:30, you need to arrive in time to get around.

As it closes at 5pm, last entry 4:30, you need to arrive in time to get around.

Cheile Turzii Fifteen minutes drive S. A must for all our visitors. Walk through the gorge on a rocky path, crossing the river at several points on foot bridges. The path can be rocky and uneven, and slippery if wet. Once you reach the other side there are several options.
1.Walk to the viewpoint to see the gorge at it’s most spectacular.
2.Walk back along the way you came.
3.Take refreshment at the small cafe there.
4.Walk back along the east ridge or along the west ridge. The west ridge has a very steep climb. The east ridge has a more gentle climb through the forest to the most wonderful views from the top of the gorge.

Tureni Gorge
Autostrada TransilvaniaOur local! Five minutes S. This can be attacked in many ways.
1.There is the short walk from the edge of Tureni around the north end of the gorge looking down into it. Wonderful Views.
