Fun fact: the chef of the Italian Toscanini is a South African, with an Italian father. And then you get a restaurant where it is very often Italian at its best (but sometimes a real miss). And when it is at its best, it is an Italian evening as it should be: endless and welcoming. No fixed menu, but a changing menu with surprising daily specials. Toscanini is located on the Lindengracht.

A golden oldie with a very large menu, that is Café-Restaurant Amsterdam. Now such a large menu is not always a good sign, but we have never ordered anything here that was not tasty. The restaurant is located in the former Machinepump building near the Westerpark. So it is very large and high here and there is an industrial French atmosphere. Chic and cosy. A nice place to drink coffee and lunch during the day or to dine with friends in the evening.
