The place is a bit expensive, but I have always enjoyed great services there. They have a lovely summer terrace and they make one of the most amazing hookahs in Kazan. I usually just go for tea and hookah, but I did hear that food there is great also. A bit pricey though

This place looks like a Soviet canteen, and in many ways it is. Food there is relatively cheap, but the reason I am listing it here is specifically Tatar food: they have amazing triangle pies ("treugolnik" in Russian) and they come pretty cheap. Definitely recommend for tasting the local food.
