Food Scene

Great service, great food & laid-back casual atmosphere. Generally, bookings aren't required, but note that they can get busy. As Styx is located right across the street this could be your ideal go-to coffee, cake, snack, brunch & dinner destination!

Drinks & Nightlife

Actually a great place to go for dinner or a drink. It's very much a bar, but it's operated by Matt Bouterey - one of Nelson's favourite Chef's! They offer a fantastic selection of fresh oysters & other scrumptious treats & meals as well as a great selection of beer & wine!

Sightseeing

It's a lovely walk through a beautiful neighbourhood to reach the look out. From the lookout you'll enjoy the most panoramic view over Nelson's waterfront & Tasman Bay, right across to the mountains of Kahurangi National Park & the coastline of the Abel Tasman. From here, you can head down through Moncrieff Avenue & along the Cliffs & down Richardson Street back to the apartment, or along & down Moana Avenue & down Days Track to the beach!

Parks & Nature

The Maitai River walkway begins on Akerston Street in the Port. You can commence the walk here, or cross the crossing at Auckland Point School & drop down to the river & the bridge 100m toward the highway to Picton. Upstream you'll pass the library, the iSite information centre, River Kitchen Cafe (which is very good!), the Riverside Pool, Queens Gardens & Suter Art Gallery & the Centre of New Zealand walk. From here the trail is most traversed by locals, but it's most definitely where it becomes most beautiful. You can continue to walk for an hour or two, but we recommend walking for half an hour or so to enjoy the river & surrounding scenery, before returning to the city for a meal!
